  23. System Requirements
  24.  
  25. - Operating system: Windows 98SE, Me, 2000, or XP
  26.  
  27. - RAM: 128MB minimum; 256MB or more recommended
  28.  
  29. - Intel« Pentium« III, 4 class processor or equivalent
  30.  
  31. - Color monitor capable of displaying thousands of colors at a resolution of 800x600 or higher    
  32.  
  33. - DirectX 8.1 or newer (installed automatically if not present)
  34.  
  35. - 250 MB available hard disk space (130 MB on boot drive if installing to another 
  36.   drive)
  37.  
  38. - Internet Explorer 5.01 (with service pack 2), 5.5, or 6.0
  39.  
  40. - QuickTime 5.01 or newer (required only to use QuickTime movies, which 
  41.   some cameras produce). If your system does not have QuickTime installed, 
  42.   you can install it from www.apple.com/quicktime/download.

  44. - Ensure that your graphic card drivers are the current version.

  46. Running Adobe Photoshop Album Over a Network 
  47.  
  48. - Adobe Photoshop Album is not designed to be run when Windows is multi-
  49.   launched over a network. 
  50.  
  51. - You can access photos from network drives if they are mapped to a drive 
  52.   letter, but Adobe Photoshop Album cannot store any of its working files 
  53.   on network drives.

  55. Camera Issues
  56.  
  57. - Avoid TWAIN drivers for cameras. Use WIA drivers or mount as a mass 
  58.   storage device whenever possible.
  59.  
  60. - If your camera is not recognized by Photoshop Album, remove the memory 
  61.   card from the camera and insert it into a flash drive, or get photos from 
  62.   the camera by using the vendor-provided software to copy them to the hard 
  63.   disk, and then import them into Photoshop Album from the disk.

  65. - Do not write-protect Memory Sticks before importing the photos into 
  66.   Photoshop Album.

  69. ODBC Error
  70.  
  71. If you get an ODBC error dialog on startup, it may mean that some components or its 
  72. registries of the Microsoft Data Access Component may have been improperly altered 
  73. or removed by some other program on their system. Please run the FixAccessOdbcReg utility 
  74. that can be found on the Photoshop Album CD to fix the problem.  Be sure to read the 
  75. FixAccessOdbcReg readme located in the same folder.

  78. PDF Creation Issues
  79.  
  80. - Acrobat 4.0 and earlier are not compatible with creations made with 
  81.   certain Photoshop Album templates. 
  82.  
  83. - If you send a PDF file created with Photoshop Album to a Macintosh OS X 
  84.   user, they should not double-click on the file (which will launch AppleÆs 
  85.   viewer) but should launch the Adobe Acrobat Reader and open the PDF from 
  86.   there.

  88. - When selecting background music files for slideshows, use MP3 files 
  89.   whenever possible. WAV files larger than 2 MB may not play correctly.

  92. Movie Clip Issues
  93.  
  94. - If you have any trouble playing movies (picture, sound or both), you may 
  95.   have some corrupted DirectX files. You can install DirectX 8.1 from the 
  96.   Photoshop Album CD by double-clicking on the dxsetup.exe file in the DirectX folder, 
  97.   Common>DirectX 8.1 folder or download and install DirectX 9 from the Microsoft site,

  101. Email Client Issues
  102.  
  103. - Photoshop Album can create email messages with AOL, Eudora, Hotmail, 
  104.   Outlook, and Outlook Express. If you use a different email client or 
  105.   service, select ôOtherö in Photoshop AlbumÆs email preferences and the 
  106.   attachment will be written to disk.
  107.  
  108. - If using AOL, you must have AOL set as your default client for it to work 
  109.   properly with Photoshop Album. Open AOL, choose Preferences under the 
  110.   Settings menu, and click the Associations item to make AOL your preferred 
  111.   email client.
  112.  
  113. - If using Hotmail, problems may occur if you attempt to attach multiple 
  114.   individual photos. Use the PDF option to combine all the photos into one 
  115.   PDF file.
  116.  
  117. - When using Hotmail to send an attachment for the first time, you will be 
  118.   prompted to download and install the Hotmail Attachments Control. You 
  119.   must say Yes to this.
  120.  
  121. - Hotmail and other email clients may limit the total size of your attachments.
  122.   This is specific to them, and you must choose file size settings in the 
  123.   email dialog to conform to your email client.
  124.  
  125. Rotation Issues
  126.  
  127. - Photoshop Album will sometimes create an edited copy of a photo while 
  128.   rotating, even if it could have been rotated without any degradation 
  129.   (losslessly).To correct this, revert the photo to original, then rotate again.

  131. Fast User Switching Issues
  132.  
  133. - When switching between multiple users accessing the same catalog, do not 
  134.   switch users when in the process of entering text (such as for a caption 
  135.   or note), or the text entry will be lost. Click out of the text field 
  136.   before switching users.
  137.  
  138. - Exit the creation wizard before switching users, or changes in process 
  139.   may be lost.
  140.  
  141. Operating System Upgrades
  142.  
  143. - If you upgrade your operating system, links to photos in Photoshop Album 
  144.   may be broken. To avoid this, perform a full Photoshop Album backup 
  145.   (select File > Backup) before upgrading the operating system, and then 
  146.   restore (File > Restore) after completing the upgrade.
  147.  
  148. - If upgrading from Windows 98SE or Me to Windows 2000 or XP, you must 
  149.   reinstall Photoshop Album after upgrading or CD and DVD writing functions 
  150.   will not operate.

  152. CD and DVD Issues
  153.  
  154. - With some CD-RW drives and some CD-RW discs, Photoshop Album may be 
  155.   unable to overwrite the disc if it already has information on it. Use a 
  156.   blank CD-RW disc, or a CD-R disc.

  158.  
  159. Printing
  160.  
  161. - If the default printer is changed in Windows while Photoshop Album is 
  162.   running, Photoshop Album may not detect the change until it is closed and 
  163.   restarted.
  164.  
  165. - To produce printed output on disk, use the Creation Wizard and click on 
  166.   the "Save as PDF" button in page 5 of the wizard. The "Print to File"
  167.   option is not available in the print dialog.

  169. 3D Photo Gallery Issues
  170.  
  171. - Viewing the Adobe Atmosphere 3D photo gallery content requires Internet 
  172.   Explorer version 5.01 or greater. 3D photo galleries cannot be viewed 
  173.   using Netscape. 
  174.  
  175. Undocumented Feature: Regenerate All Thumbnails
  176.  
  177. - You can force a complete regeneration of all thumbnails by right-clicking 
  178.   on any photo, then holding down the control key while you select "Update 
  179.   Thumbnail" from the context menu. Note that this can take a long time to 
  180.   complete with a large catalog and program performance will be slow during 
  181.   regeneration.
